A major selling point of peat briquettes is undoubtedly the unique pleasant aroma and bright flame they give off, giving a real homely feeling.  They are an incredibly flexible fuel.  They can be used alone or combined with other fuel types and are just as suitable for use in open fires, cookers, stoves, fire bowls or fire pits.  They are also easily lit with just fire lighters as they have a much lower moisture content compared to turf or other similar fuels.

Our peat briquettes are made from milled, dried and compressed peat.  The high compression removes most of the moisture from the peat and binds it into solid rectangular bricks which are always the same size making them easy to store and stack easily.  The briquettes have no additives, binders or colouring agents and are completely natural.  As the briquettes have a low moisture content they do not spit or spark and have a consistently high heat output.

Peat briquettes will burn for up to three hours under normal use in an open fire, but can also be used in a stove or appliance with closed vents to keep a fire ‘in’ overnight.  They are also ideal for rekindling a dying fire.
