Our peat briquettes have been the most popular peat product in Ireland for over 60 years.  They are made from peat which is milled, dried and then pressed under high pressure to make a solid rectangular briquette.  All the briquettes have the same dimensions and peat content given a predictable consistently high burn time and heat production.  Also, as they are always the same size they are easy to stack in the most efficient storage space.

The peat briquettes supplied by Liverpool Wood Pellets are easy to light with firelighters as they are a lot dryer than turf or other comparable products.  Firelighters can be found in the recommended products at the bottom of the page.  The unique selling point for peat briquettes in comparison to other solid fuels is the completely unique scent which is only found in genuine Irish peat.  It also gives a bright shining flame which coupled with the peat aroma give a real homely fire.

Peat briquettes will provide a long burn time of up to three hours, but can also be used in a closed appliance to keep a fire ‘in’ overnight or to rekindle a dying flame. They are very easy to use and clean, with low sulfur emissions and can be burned alone or combinef with other fuels.  Our peat briquettes typically have only 12% moisture content so they wont spit or spark and they leave a low ash residue.
