Delivery

Delivery Information

We work hard so that the vast majority of Liverpool Wood Pellets orders are delivered within 2-3 working days, and our prices already include delivery for the vast majority of the mainland UK.  There is a small surcharge of around £10 or less for deliveries to Wales, Scotland and Devon and Cornwall. This is dependent on the weight of your order, and is calculated at the checkout.

If you need to rearrange delivery, please contact us as soon as possible, on 0151 236 9181, so that we can inform the courier company. Please note that the delivery company will charge us if there is nobody to receive the delivery, or access is restricted, and they have to try again. Whilst we understand that your circumstances can change, we do reserve the right to pass on these costs to you.

Specific Delivery Day

Why not choose a convenient delivery date when you order? This is no problem, and helps both us and the delivery company to manage our orders and deliveries. Whilst we can’t give an exact time of delivery, we can make it easier for you to arrange days off work, or for someone to receive your order.

If you need a next working day delivery, this can be arranged too, but there will be an additional charge of £10 per pallet. Please ring us on 0151 236 9181 to arrange next day delivery. Saturday delivery can also be arranged too for an additional charge of £50 .

When Ordering

Please make sure that you give us any helpful instructions and information if your property or business premises are hard to reach, or will be unsuitable for a large lorry.  A mobile number will be useful too.

Please remember

  • Narrow roads may be unsuitable for large delivery lorries.
  • The delivery area should be flat, rather than a steep slope.
  • Pallet trucks don’t work on loose ground such as grass or gravel
  • The delivery lorry won’t have a fork lift truck or a crane.
  • You may need additional help in order to get your wood pellets, briquettes or charcoal exactly where you want it, as the delivery driver won’t be able to unload your pallet for you, or to bring bags into your home or workplace.

Delivery Vehicles

In order to make sure that you get your wood pellets, charcoal and briquettes when you need them, our delivery company has advised us that they will be using 18 tonne lorries for all our deliveries, so that they can improve delivery times which will also help to keep our costs down.

An 18 tonne lorry is approximately:

  • 15m long
  • 2.6m wide
  • 4.5m high

18.5 tonne delivery lorry

Special Circumstances

For hard to reach places, or those areas or roads that are unsuitable for big lorries, a smaller 7.5 tonne lorry can be used instead. A 7.5 tonne lorry is similar in size to a bin lorry, so if you get your bins emptied, then there’s room for a 7.5 tonne lorry.

It measures approximately:

  • 8.0m long
  • 2.5m wide
  • 3.7m high

For places that are even harder to reach, a long wheelbase van may need to be used instead. This will be similar to a long wheelbase “Transit” style van, and approximately:

  • 7m long
  • 2.5m wide
  • 2.8m high

Whilst all vehicles will have a tail lift, the capacity of the tail lift of an 18 tonne lorry is much greater than a large van. This means that your order could arrive in several shipments, eg, if you’ve ordered 2 tonnes which needs to be delivered by a large van.

Therefore it’s essential that there is enough space for this size of large lorry to deliver and manoeuvre.
